Pupil Ambassador- News 2020-2021

Kitchen update! Work on fitting our new Kitchen classroom has started. We can't wait to start cooking!

This week Pupil Ambassadors made suggestion boxes for each class. If you have an idea on how we can improve our school, write on the slip and post your idea in your class box. Then at each meeting the ambassadors will go through them and discuss your ideas.

Pupil Ambassadors made suggestion boxes

Pupil Ambassadors are working with Rights Respecting Ambassadors to organise a culture diversity day... Lola has suggested we hold an art exhibition. We are currently planning this for the last week of this half term.

The children (and adults) had a fun packed day to celebrate the amazing work our pupils have completed since returning to school. The Easter bunny hid lots of eggs in Forest school and we all had fun on the bouncy castle. Thank you for your donations and buying raffle tickets. We have raised an amazing £170

Pupil Ambassadors will be supporting the local homeless charity "CRISIS". Over the festive period they will be supporting up to 250 homeless people. We are helping by making our community aware and from Monday 16th November we are asking for donations of food. Your child will be bringing home a letter to explain the items we need to collect. Please watch the charity's videos on you tube.

Children in Need 2020. Look out for the letter coming home on Friday 6th November to find out what we have organised for Children in Need this year.

Pupil Ambassadors now have their own school fleeces which they will wear around school and at school events. Thank you to Mrs Broadfield for organising this for us.

Pupil Ambassadors would like to thank you for all the donations for "Bags for Schools". Your bags were collected yesterday and we should know by the end of next week how much money has been raised

The children have spoken to Mrs Abraham about having a kitchen where we can learn to cook. So this term Pupil Ambassadors are raising money to go towards the new kitchen. Our first event took place on 21st October. We are very fortunate that Mrs Abraham has ordered us lots of new books for our Library. We needed to make room for them so we held a book sale and sold our old books. The children were very excited and were helped by Mrs Zentani, Miss Sheppard and Mrs Haines. We raised £126 towards our new kitchen.

Today (7/10/20) we held our first meeting, socially distanced of course! We discussed the roles of the ambassadors, and our ideas for making our school even better than it is. We had some fabulous ideas so watch this space to see what events will be coming soon!

Mrs Abraham and Bailey visited each class today to announce who had won the Pupil Ambassador elections. We will have our first socially distanced meeting very soon. Congratulations to the successful candidates.

We held a vote to see who we wanted to represent us as our class ambassadors...we chose 2 pupils in our class who we thought would be good representatives.

On Monday 21st September we shall be voting for the new Pupil Ambassadors for 2020/21.

Do you think you could be a good representative for your class?

If you would like to be an Ambassador please speak to your class mates and tell them why you would make a good Ambassador for your class.

We have received a cheque for £90 from Bags 2 Schools. Thank you to everyone who donated bags of clothes. This money will go into our new kitchen fund.

The Bags2schools van came to collect all the bags we have collected. They will now be weighed. Once weighed we will find out how much money we have raised.

Mrs Broadfield and Rights Respecting Pupil Ambassadors have launched Bags2School. We are collecting old clothes to be recycled. Our bags of clothes will be collected on 28th February. These bags will then be exchanged for cash. The money raised will go towards our new exciting classroom kitchen project. Please continue to send in your bags of unwanted clothes.  Thank you for supporting us.

They will donate the shoes to UNICEF who will distribute them to people in need. Please send in your unwanted shoes and put them in our wheelie bin in the main office. Please make sure they are in pairs and in reasonable condition. We have made posters to inform our pupils about the charity. Thank you for supporting us.

Festive Jumper Day!

Festive Jumper day 2019

Festive Jumper day. Friday 13th December

This year Pupil Ambassadors are organising a festive jumper day to raise money for Good Hope Hospital. The money we raise will help buy Christmas presents for patients who have to spend the holidays in hospital.

We are aware that not all of our children celebrate Christmas, and we don't want your parents spending lots of money on Christmas Jumpers.

So... this will be a non uniform day, you can wear a Christmas Jumper or something festive. Please donate £1 which will go towards our fund raising. Good Hope Hospital have said for ever £1 we collect we can keep 50p for school. This would help us to buy some equipment for school.
