Nursery learning Spring 1 2021
This week we are looking at the nursery rhyme “ Humpty Dumpty”. We will read the nursery rhyme and talk about the characters in it.
Monday 11thn January 2021
Maths |
Number https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diMJIlv-4N0 Sing the song “1,2,3,4,5 Once I Caught A Fish Alive”. Look around your house and sort things into groups of 5 and count them ( for example, a group of 5 spoons, 5 toy dinosaur toys, 5 pens). Practise touching each item and counting it 1,2,3,4,5. |

Help your child to continue to try to write their name. Concentrate on one letter if they are finding it difficult. |

Fast or slow. Continuing from yesterdays activity, put on your favourite music and get your child to clap along in time to it! (try to use a fast song and a slow song just for them to notice the difference). |
Wednesday 13th January

Go for a walk (keeping safe of course), pretend you are Humpty Dumpty and are very high! What kind of things would you see. Then pretend you are Humpty Dumpty after you have fallen on the floor, what kind of things can you see now? Write some of your ideas in your Home Learning Journal.

Clap a simple rhythm (or you get out some pots and spoons and drum it). Get your child to repeat the rhythm back. For example clap 1,2,3 and ask them to do the same. |

Humpty Dumpty Talk about the fact that Humpty Dumpty was an egg. Talk about what you eat that contains egg. If you are brave enough, let your child crack an egg and see it. You could use the eggs to make scrambled eggs for dinner! |

Practise drawing circles in your Home Learning Journal and create a family for Humpty Dumpty! Don’t forget to give them faces and get your grown up to label who they are. |

Wednesday 6th 2021 - This week we are looking at the story “ We’re Going On a Bear Hunt”. We will read the story, talk about the characters and begin to look at where the bear hunt takes them.
