World Book Day

To celebrate World Book Day the children and staff dressed up as different vocabulary. We had some really creative ideas!

Our day started with an assembly from Year 6. The class had written the assembly themselves and shared examples of their favourite books as well as reading their own writing and show casing themselves as authors. They even performed a song about the importance of reading.

After this we all took part in paired reading with children from other classes across the school. (Have a look at some of the photos to see us sharing books together.) All of the classes received their boxes of new books that the teachers had chosen for them and this led to great excitement. Later on we took part in master classes from the World Book Day website, some of us shared stories with parents and some of us shared stories with a variety of different teachers.

Thank you to everyone: parents, children and staff who helped to make our day so much fun.
