The children planted seeds, watered plants, took part in a litter pick and sorted recycling materials to learn practical ways to look after the environment. They also discussed pictures showing a "happy world" and a "sad world", helping them understand how our actions can make a positive difference. Through these activities, the children developed their understanding of caring for others, animals and the world around them.

Please ensure your child scans the QR codes to complete their phonics learning and reads their phonics book regularly.

Each pack also includes counters and a ten frame for the children to use when playing the maths games, helping to develop their understanding of numbers to 10.

As part of a whole-school competition, we would also like the children to complete the writing activity about children’s rights. The paper and picture prompts are included in the pack and can also be downloaded below.

Please return all home learning by Friday. We would also love to see photographs of the children completing their maths learning at home — please email any photographs to enquiry@hawthorn.bham.sch.uk
