As part of our RE learning about Respecting Our World, Reception explored how Christians and Humanists believe that our world is special and should be cared for. The children planted seeds, watered plants, took part in a litter pick and sorted recycling materials to learn practical ways to look after the environment. They also discussed pictures showing a "happy world" and a "sad world", helping them understand how our actions can make a positive difference. Through these activities, the children developed their understanding of caring for others, animals and the world around them.

The children have all received a home learning pack containing the activities listed below. Please ensure your child scans the QR codes to complete their phonics learning and reads their phonics book regularly.

Each pack also includes counters and a ten frame for the children to use when playing the maths games, helping to develop their understanding of numbers to 10.

As part of a whole-school competition, we would also like the children to complete the writing activity about children’s rights. The paper and picture prompts are included in the pack and can also be downloaded below.

We have read 'Clothesline Cues to Jobs People Do', 'Here Come the Helpers' and 'Let's Meet the Helpers'. We have looked at where people work in our local community and have created our own mini-community in expressive arts and design.
