Here's what your child will be learning about this half-term:
We are all ready for a new, exciting chapter in your children's lives as they begin their learning journey in Year 2.
All week, we have been exploring the scientific concept of adaptation and change.
Did you know a habitat is a place where animals and plants grow? In science, the children in Y2 are learning about the different types of habitats around the world. We were lucky enough, last week, to visit a place where there are lots of different micro-habitats. We explored grasslands, wooded areas and even went pond dipping to see which micro-beasts and plants could be found in each area.
We have started our PSHE unit this term by thinking about our worries.
We know it's important to share our worries with our 5 trusted adults.
In computing this half term, the children have been using surveys to create tables and bar charts to organise and interpret data more easily. They have looked at the difference between questions which only 2 answers and those which have multiple choices.
They were even able to use the data they collected in science (about birds in the local area) to create bar charts.
Come back soon to see what we do next...
Welcome to the Year 2 page. Please see below the class information booklet which was shared during our 'Meet The Teacher' sessions before the end of last term.
