Eco Warriors Visit Witton Lakes Eco Hub...
Our Eco Warriors enjoyed an exciting and rewarding visit to the Eco Hub at Witton Lakes, where they had the opportunity to work alongside pupils from one of our partner schools, Wilson Stuart Special Academy. The visit provided a wonderful opportunity for children from both schools to collaborate, build new friendships and learn from one another in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Working together in mixed groups, the children demonstrated excellent teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills as they took part in a range of environmental activities. One of the highlights of the day was creating bird feeders and wildlife shelters, helping to support local habitats and encourage biodiversity within the natural environment.
The experience helped pupils develop a deeper understanding of the importance of caring for wildlife and protecting the world around them. It also encouraged children to appreciate the value of inclusion, cooperation and working together towards a shared goal.
This learning linked closely to Article 29, which encourages respect for the natural environment, and Article 23, which recognises the rights of children with disabilities to participate fully in their communities. The visit also promoted the British Values of Mutual Respect and Tolerance, as pupils worked collaboratively, celebrated differences and learnt from each other's experiences.
The Eco Warriors returned inspired and motivated to continue making a positive difference within their school and local community, demonstrating that by working together we can all play a part in protecting our environment.
