Year 3 were delighted to welcome parents and carers into school to take part in a creative workshop linked to their History topic on Ancient Egypt. Working together, children and their families designed and created colourful Ancient Egyptian headdresses, allowing them to share their learning while developing their artistic skills and historical knowledge.

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for parents and carers to become actively involved in their children's education, strengthening the partnership between home and school. Children enjoyed sharing facts they had learned about Ancient Egyptian life and worked collaboratively with family members to complete their creations.

This experience promoted the British Value of Mutual Respect, as children and adults worked together, listened to one another's ideas and celebrated each other's contributions. The workshop also linked closely to Article 5, which recognises the important role of parents and carers in guiding and supporting children as they grow and learn, and Article 18, which states that parents share responsibility for a child's upbringing and development.

By involving families in learning experiences such as this, we help children recognise the important role that parents and carers play in supporting their education while creating positive opportunities for families to learn and achieve together.
