Hello Yellow Day: Promoting Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing...

Participating in Hello Yellow Day in support of Young Minds is an important event at our school and provides a valuable opportunity to promote positive mental health and emotional wellbeing. Throughout the day, every class takes part in a range of age-appropriate activities designed to help children understand the importance of looking after their mental health, recognising emotions and knowing where to seek support when needed.

These activities encourage open discussions about feelings, resilience, kindness and wellbeing, helping to reduce stigma and create a school culture where children feel safe, valued and listened to. The event also supports children's understanding that mental health is just as important as physical health.

Hello Yellow Day links closely to the UNICEF Rights of the Child, particularly Article 24, which states that every child has the right to the best possible health, including mental health and wellbeing, and Article 12, which recognises every child's right to express their views and have their voice heard. By taking part in Hello Yellow Day, we reinforce our commitment to ensuring that all children feel supported, respected and empowered to talk about their feelings in a safe and nurturing environment.
