Our Rights, Our Responsibilities: Creating Rights Respecting Class Charters...

Each year group has worked collaboratively to create its own class charter, linked closely to both the UNICEF Rights of the Child and British Values. The children played an active role in discussing the rights that are important to them and identifying the responsibilities that help ensure everyone can enjoy these rights within the school community.

These class charters are proudly displayed in every classroom and are regularly referred to throughout the school day. They provide a shared understanding of how we treat one another with respect, kindness and fairness, while promoting values such as democracy, mutual respect, individual liberty and the rule of law. By creating and using their charters, pupils develop a strong sense of ownership and responsibility, helping to foster a positive, inclusive and rights-respecting learning environment for all.
