Rights and British Values in Reception...
Reception have been discussing their Right to be Safe and exploring how our classroom rules help to keep everyone safe, happy and ready to learn. Using JIT Write, the children typed sentences about the rules we follow in class, applying their developing keyboard and early writing skills. They shared ideas such as using kind hands, walking indoors and helping to tidy the classroom to keep themselves and others safe.
This learning also linked closely to the British Value of Rule of Law, as the children explored why rules are important and how they help everyone to feel safe, respected and included. Through discussion and their independent writing, the children demonstrated an understanding that rules are there to protect our rights and ensure that our classroom is a safe and positive environment for all.
