As part of Black History Month, Year 1 explored the importance of celebrating our differences. We looked at the work of a Black author, Hannah Lee, who wrote My Hair and discussed the different types, colours and textures of hair that people have. The children then created wonderful pictures of themselves, carefully thinking about their own unique hair. We enjoyed talking about how everyone is different and special, and how these differences should be celebrated.
