  • Water Safety!

    Within Year 5 today, the class gained an understanding of water safety and how we should behave around water, especially with the holidays approaching.

    We discussed how to be safe and how to conduct ourselves alongside our younger siblings or family relatives, when we are around water in parks or swimming pools. 

    We watched an informative and educational video from CBBC Newsround to support our learning, whilst also creating informative posters to showcase our learning!

  • Now Press Play

    Today, Year 5 experienced Now Press Play, which is an immersive audio learning experience. Chn were provided headlines and listened to different topics that they have covered this year!

    All chn really enjoyed the learning experience and look forward to using it again!

  • BSL lessons

    BSL lessons will continue over the Summer Term, where the children will be reviewing numbers, names, interests, days of the week, months of the year, alongside feelings and emotions.

    The class will continue to gain confidence with their BSL signing and continue to use it within school.

  • Year 5 Computing - Scratch

    Over the Summer Term within Computing, Year 5 have been working brilliantly on their coding, imagination and creativity!

    The children have been able to create, 'drop and catch' games, a take on the vintage game 'Pong' and were even able to create their own 'Etch a sketch' game!

  • DT - Spaghetti Bolognese

  • Art - Maya masks

    On Tuesday afternoon, Year 5 held a Parental Engagement, whereby children, alongside parents and carers created Maya masks out of clay!

    It was fantastic to see so many children positive, creative and enthusiastic about the clay modelling during this session.

    Children will bring their completed masks home later this week.

  • Happy Easter

    Year 5 have had a wonderful busy spring term, packed with creativity and learning! We've loved exploring the work of the brilliant poet Benjamin Zephaniah, which inspired some fantastic discussions and ideas. In writing, we had great fun diving into the nonsense and imagination of The Jaberwocky, while in maths we became experts at reading and creating line graphs. Alongside our learning, we really enjoyed celebrating Eid together, sharing joy and understanding as a class. A big thank you to everyone who took part in our exciting egg competition – there were some truly egg-cellent entries! Wishing you all a very Happy Easter and we can't wait to welcome you back for an equally exciting summer term!

  • Urban Devotion

    Today, we welcomed Urban Devotion, a youth charity that supports and provides services for young people, to our school. They delivered an engaging workshop that helped children explore their feelings and emotions, offering practical techniques for understanding and managing them. The session encouraged pupils to reflect, share their ideas and support one another, helping them build confidence and emotional awareness. It was a positive experience that helped the children be better equipped to navigate their motions.

  • Goodbye Mrs Todd

    This week, Year 5 said a heartfelt goodbye to Mrs Todd as she begins her well-earned retirement. The children shared beautiful poems and thoughtful messages to remind her of the many happy memories they've shared together. Having been part of our school community for over 18 years, Mrs Todd has inspired countless pupils with her kindness, patience and love of learning. She will be greatly missed by everyone, and we hope she will visit us soon to see the wonderful legacy she leaves behind.
