Internet Safety 2023
(February 7th)

Living in a digital world, we need to be more aware of the potential dangers when heading online. During the second week of February, we will be exploring internet safety in a number of exciting ways.

As parents and carers, we need your help in ensuring your children know how to keep safe and when to report inappropriate, or bullying content online. Please see the links below when Childnet are providing video and activities you can watch/do with your children to begin a dialogue with your son/daughter around online safety... please take a look!

January 2023 - Roblox warning!

The Christmas holidays as seen a rise in the number of children using and accessing the internet, with a huge focus on online gaming

It has been brought to our attention that Roblox is urging children to harm themselves as part of the game play. This is done through the 'chat/text' menu where the player is messaged with a DARE (or 'D') from an anonymous person.

As this poses a significant potential risk to any of our pupils, staff will be talking to their classes about how to stay safe online. We hope you will support the school in discussing this with your children at home before they go online.

For your information, please see the Roblox guidance, from the National Online Safety website, in the 'Friday Feel Safe' section below.
